“Crossing” at Lorin Gallery Los Angeles

I recently attended 'Crossing' at the Lorin Gallery, an exhibition that captivated me from the very beginning. The gallery space was filled with sculptures and paintings crafted by artist Leslie Condon, each one overflowing with her unique expression of emotion and experience.

The pieces are deeply personal to Condon as she draws inspiration from her own life story—her roots in England and Mexico, as well as a deep connection to nature felt through weather patterns—to create works that bring together elements of both cultures and evoke emotions within viewers. From delicate watercolors on canvas to larger-than-life assemblages made up of found objects, every piece in this collection is sure to capture the imagination.

One sculpture in particular stood out for me: "Standing Stones" is composed mostly out of wood sourced from local forests surrounding Condon's home in England, connecting visitors directly back to nature even while inside a city gallery setting. I could feel the energy radiating off this work; it truly stirred something special within me!

It's clear that Crossing is much more than just artworks displayed on walls: it serves as a bridge between two distinct worlds - those belonging to Condon herself and those belonging to us all - uniting us together through shared experiences captured so beautifully here. This powerful exhibition will stay with me long after leaving its doors; I'm already looking forward to visiting again soon!
